We have observed that new adopters of InnerSource have common concerns e.g.

  • What is the cost/overhead?
  • Why not just open source?
  • Will this slow us down?
  • Will we just be reviewing PRs all day every day?

This could be a candidate for a new segment within the introduction section.

We may start this as a simple FAQ.

A couple of things in this area came up in this week's meeting:

  • Terminology can be inconsistent - perhaps a glossary would be a good addition to the introduction section?
  • We've had a couple of people join the learning path call as a way to get started with InnerSource; it's great that we can have these chats, share our experiences, point people at available resources etc. but it's not the intent of the call. Currently, Slack seems to be the primary method of giving new people advice, but could we do some sort of 'office hours' or similar to help beginners?
