Search Response behaviour on timeout of search

Interface displays the 'busy' icon while search is ongoing, if the search times-out at back-end it appears the interface simply shows no responses (i.e. no indication search has timed out).

Could do with a simple error page ('try again later' kind of thing) or some error indication.
