Testing Planner

The following sections describe the tests used in Planner.

Unit tests

To run the unit tests use:

$ npm run tests -- --unit

Functional tests

Prerequisite
  • To run the tests ensure that you have an account on prod-preview.openshift.io

Procedure

To run the functional tests:

  1. Login to prod-preview.openshift.io.

  2. Get the refresh token:

    1. In the Google Chrome browser, press kbd:[F12] to open the Chrome Devtools pane and navigate to the Application tab.

    2. In the Storage section expand Local Storage and click on prod-preview.openshift.io.

    3. Copy the value for the refresh_token key.

  3. Run the tests with the following command:

REFRESH_TOKEN=<YOUR_REFRESH_TOKEN> USER_NAME=<YOUR_PROD-PREVIEW-USERNAME> tests/run_e2e_tests.sh

The functional tests support the following configuration variables:

  • BASE_URL: (default: https://prod-preview.openshift.io) - The tests are executed against this URL. To run tests against locally running integrated planner set the base url to http://localhost:3000.

  • HEADLESS_MODE (default=false): When HEADLESS_MODE is set, Protractor runs tests in headless chrome, similar to CI/CD environment.

  • REFRESH_TOKEN: This variable is required for authentication. See step 2 in the Run tests section to get this token.

  • USER_NAME: This variable is also required for authentication. USER_NAME is your prod-preview account username

For further details see Test Runner documentation.
