I tried upgrading twexe based on #5

I just downloaded an empty 5.2.3 and then ran
twexe empty.html

This updates twexe to latest tiddlywiki.

BUT

the autosave feature seems to be lost with the update.
When I edit any tiddler and close the tiddler, it used to autosave. But no longer once updated to the new tiddlywiki.

Saving from the right hand side icon downloads a copy of the tiddlywiki instead of saving to twexe.

Anybody has this sorted out ?

You just need to create a new tiddler with the title

$:/UploadWithUrlOnly

and the content

yes

Then MAGIC, problem solved.

I don't know why, I saw this solution on a website, but unfortunately I forgot the link to that website, so...a big thanks to the guy whose name I don't know!

Hi @Nivdc

Then MAGIC, problem solved.

Does not work for me! As you advised

  • an empty.html downloaded from tiddlywiki.com (current version is 5.2.7)
  • empty.html was opened in browser and $:/UploadWithUrlOnly tiddler with text field yes was added and saved
  • run the below command twexe empy.html
  • run the generated empty.exe
  • create new tiddler

Nothing happened, if you click on save, browser tries to download the file.

@kookma

Sorry for not noticing that the question mentions this empty.html, I am not using this file.
I used the file generated by twexe and then upgraded it using tiddlywiki.com/upgrade.html

It seems that the file is missing some other system parameters.
If you want to use the official empty.html, you need to add two other tiddlers.

$:/UploadName
twexe

and

$:/UploadURL
http://127.0.0.1:8080/store

The line below is the content.
In addition, the port number must be consistent with the port number used by twexe, 8080 is the default.

You can try it with my file.
eempty.zip

PS: $:/UploadName doesn't seem to be necessary...but...it exists...so...better to keep it?

@kookma

That's great to hear.
However, I am a little embarrassed to find that there is an identical solution on this forum. I guess that's probably where it came from.

Anyway, there was a problem here before, and now the problem is solved, this is the most important thing.

Ah thank you I forgot about it!

However, I am a little embarrassed to find that there is an identical solution on this forum.

I revised the message on Talk and acknowledged the original post! Thank you again and sorry for inconveniences.
