How to escape dollar signs if I don't want math formulas?

But how to escaped dollar signs for $t, $s, $a, $v? None of the following works:

$t, $s, $a, $v

\$t, \$s, \$a, \$v

\\$t, \\$s, \\$a, \\$v

\\$t, \$s, \\$a, \$v

\$t, \\$s, \$a, \\$v

I suspect that this might be a bug.

This is the behavior of pandoc and is unrelated to the NexT theme.

However, I don't think this is the behavior of Pandoc. You can try Pandoc online.

Pandoc online does not keep the \ before $ either. So this is exactly the behavior of Pandoc.

In LaTeX, $ is considered the start of an inline formula, while \$ is treated as an escape character. The MathJax engine used by NexT is also designed based on this convention.

The current situation is that pandoc often ignores \$ and only outputs $ (As you can confirm with both hexo-renderer-pandoc and Pandoc online), that's why I'm sure it's unrelated to the NexT theme, and it is clearly a behavior specific to pandoc itself.

The picture above shows that $t, $s, $a, $v is not regarded as math formula when using Pandoc. However, it is regarded as math formula when using Hexo. Why does this happen?
