This is a part from Texas Instruments. I have not found any concrete reference to it in the readme or in discussions here so I'm curious if anybody tested that and if it works. Thanks!

I doubt the PAL chips would work. The Lattice GAL20V8B does work with an adapter.

I'm less worried about the need for a pin to pin socket adapter; I'm rather curios about the actual burning protocol being supported.

Nobody reported that PAL's would work with Afterburner. I do not have any available to try out myself, and I could not find any available to buy, not even on Aliexpress. So, if you are curious and have bunch of those (... to spare in case some burn out) then give it a go, it should be possible to wire it up on a breadboard.
