I followed the instructions below:

The problem is, I get the following error message:

You're not using /dev/by-id/(disk-uuid), instead you're using /dev/(disk) , which is unadvised by the docs, but if you insist, you need to change the bpool ${DISK}-part3 to bpool ${DISK}3

It specifically mentions using /dev/disk/by-id:
DISK=/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_disk1

I agree OP is making a mistake using /dev/(disk) during their sgdisk commands.

However, I ran into the same problem as OP using the correct path, and even went one step further and used full path names rather than variables.
