The Reddit companion bar will not appear when following some links when the user is also using the chrome extension "Https Everywhere". Check wikipedia or youtube links to see this in action.

Https Everywhere is forcing the browser to connect to these domains using https:// and in doing so is causing the reddit companion to not appear.

Well, now with the full site https on reddit, the companion doesn't work. There's a bunch of hardcoded url linking to http://www.reddit.com so probably the problem.
