September 27, 2022 Meeting

  • General note about talk and poster authorship
    • When presenting a poster or talk about the SasView package or components or activities etc. the presenter(s) should
      • email the developer list to let them know it is going on
      • Authorship only needs to be the presenter(s)
      • Slides from previous talks are available on Github docs repo and can (should?) be reused freely
      • Slides or poster should be deposited back into the repo for future use
  • Very positive reception to SasView as a community project at SAS2022
    • questions about financial support
    • code and non code contribution interest
    • new wiki pages
  • Moving to new github Discussions - Lucas Wilkins
    • Discussions should be at top (organizational) level only?
    • Issues should be used only for actionable items.
  • October Code camp update
    • Website updated - if coming please add your name
    • Typically we have a few breakout/discussion sessions at code camps.
      • Suggesting we ask the 2 people interested in exploring contributing code for 3D FFT present (through zoom) as a breakout discussion.
  • MPFit and upcoming bumps release
    • The problem with MPFit on GPU has been fixed in the new version of bumps
    • We will need to build against the new bumps version
    • Ideally we can make a 5.0.6 release with that fix that should branch directly from the 5.0.5 release point (with the same dependencies), but do we have enough time and resources?
  • Discussion on issue 1732
    • This is clearly a huge problem and has been for a while, so we should make every effort to help Stuart if he is willing and able to tackle it.
    • ask Piotr to look at discussion. Also maybe Tim. Jeff and Lucas to also comment.
  • Pull Requests (sasmodels, sasview, sasmodels-marketplace, sasdata?)
  • AOB?
